Domestic Violence Support

          Center for Non-Violence  www.centerfornv.org
The Center for Nonviolence provides education, support and advocacy to end domestic and other forms of violence while modeling equality and power sharing. Everything the Center does is aimed at preventing and reducing violence - whether it is a woman and her children who need support groups, a man who has been arrested for battering his wife or a youth who is bullying his/her classmates. The agency works as a collective, with no executive director, but 7 full time staff members that make decisions collectively, share executive director duties and make the same modest salary. The power structure of the organization is a direct reflection of the model we offer to clients, one where family members share power and are equals – where the drive to obtain power over others is what leads to violence.
